The Reverse Logistics Standards Committee is organized to explore and promote cross industry standards that facilitate reverse logistics process optimization. It is a venue for all of the reverse logistics stake-holders to develop a common vocabulary and data-set upon which standards can be based.
Global demographic trends point to increased consumer demand for refurbished products, specifically electronics. There is no global system for tracking the repair history of these kinds of devices. The RLA is in a unique position, as the thought-leading organization in the reverse logistics field, to develop a solution to allow producers, consumers, and refurbishers to track and record the creation, repair, and disposal of electronic devices. We will discuss the benefits of such a system to refurbishers and resellers, as well as how blockchain technology enables this structure.
