Los Angeles Wildfires - World Vision is Responding

World Vision

January 8, 2025

THE SITUATION

As of January 8th, 2025, more than 5,000 acres have burned in Southern California, over 1,000 structures have been destroyed or damaged, and two people have lost their lives, with many others injured.

OUR RESPONSE SO FAR

World Vision is sending trucks loaded with supplies like water, food, blankets, coolers, hygiene kits, and more to partners on the ground, including the LA Dream Center.

Your company can support children and families affected by disasters in the U.S.:

  • Give Cash: Cash is used to purchase items, like clean water, that are in short supply. It is also used to provide freight and support for donated products, allowing us to deliver donated goods to children and families who need them the most. You can give directly here, or respond to this email to contact a corporate engagement representative.
  • Start a Fundraising Campaign: Raise support from your employees or customers through a cobranded fundraising page (example). Or consider a Point of Sale (POS) or roundup campaign.
  • Donate Product: Bottled water, hygiene supplies and other immediate response items are used for short term responses. For long term responses, needs shift to include building supplies as we help families rebuild their housing... and their lives. To provide immediate relief when disasters occur, we preposition supplies around the country (and around the world).
